THE FILM
FARA - It is a short, visual, and aesthetic narrative, from the point of view of Oscar Gentin (director)—inspired by the story of Aud the Deep-Minded and the Icelandic Sagas.
Throughout the film, the main goal is to show the place of women in historical accounts/books—demonstrating that, contrary to the rest of human history, in Iceland, the woman is represented as strong, independent, and dominant.
It is also a short film about Destiny, Journey, and Exploration.
THE ICELANDIC SAGAS
The Icelandic sagas are a set of narrative stories written in prose, originating in medieval Iceland.
They mainly characterize the stories of the first Icelandic settlers, their families, as well as the conflicts which marked this period.
Sagas are often characterized by a direct and realistic style, depicting complex characters and often dramatic events.
They constitute a rich source of knowledge about the society, culture and values of medieval Iceland, while offering captivating stories often full of poetry and mystery.

In 2015, Nowness reported receiving over 4.5 million video views and 600,000 unique visitors per month, complementing its current social media reach of over 2 million followers.
We then will showcase the project in an art exhibition in Iceland in February.
Help us cover the costs of the shoot in Scotland and be part of the film. We’re seeking for any donations from 250$ to 2,500$.
