AN OLD MAN DISCOVERS A BOOK WITH ANIMATED PAGES RECOUNTING THE RAVAGES OF HUMAN HISTORY. A YOUNG MAN APPEARS. THE ELDER HANDS HIM THE BOOK, SUSPICIOUS OF THE FUTURE.

THE FILM

Livre Noir is a poetic and visual reflection on the weight of History and intergenerational transmission. At the heart of the story, a mysterious black book with animated pages becomes a symbol of the memories, pains and lessons bequeathed by humanity. Each animated illustration, retracing the ravages of past eras, bears witness to our collective memory and the impact of human choices over time.

With Livre Noir, we seek to question our relationship with the past: are we capable of learning from our mistakes? How can we transmit memory constructively, without crushing those who receive it? Through this work, we will question our link with the past, our ability to learn from our mistakes, and the role each of us can play in building a better future.

SUPPORT LIVRE NOIR PRODUCTION & AWARD CAMPAIGN

Our goal is to bring Livre Noir all the way to the César & Oscars awards. To get there, we need support. We’re raising money for the production and for our campaign. Our campaign budget covers qualifying theatrical runs, Academy screenings and “For Your Consideration” outreach to Academy voters. Every tax-deductible charitable donation brings us closer to the dream. You can choose one of the preset donation amounts or select in your own amount.
