THE FILM
THE DAY I MET YOU is a new 3D animated short film by Dimitri Vallein that explores profound themes of obsession, love, and destiny.
The story centers on Emrys, a young, passionate, and obsessive man who isolates himself at home to create something great. He is driven by an intense character that detaches him from the outside world. His focus is Nova, a magnetic and mysterious figure who is nocturnal, beautiful, profound, and philosophical.
They have shared many stories in other timelines, but in this one, they have yet to meet.

Our main goal with THE DAY I MET YOU is to explore quantum theories, with David Deutsch, through a feeling that speaks to everyone: love. We also want to push the barriers of visual innovation in film and show how a small, specialised team can create striking, high-fidelity visuals using cutting-edge technology.
We are leveraging Unreal Engine for real-time rendering , alongside a full suite of professional software like Houdini, Blender, and Marvelous Designer.
We are raising funds to complete production and launch our international distribution campaign. This will allow us to bring the film to top-tier festivals around the world—building on the director's past success at over 30 international festivals —and organize screenings. Our technical approach also allows for future AR and VR adaptability, and we aim to use this to make the audience live a truly immersive experience.
